John H McNally

John Henry Louis McNally, age 79, of Stratford passed away August 19, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Born in Belfast, N. Ireland November 23, 1939, son of the late Johnston and Olive McNally.
Beloved husband for 36 years of Elizabeth (Loghrin). Father of Shelley Joyce McNally, Lynn Ann Foulds, Mike (Melanie) Biernaskie, Kirk (Christina) Biernaskie; brother of Doris (Billy) Have, Tilly Gregory, Ivan (Beth), Joan (Hamilton) Rodgers, George (Beth), Willie (Lynda). Brother-in-law of Tom (Marg), Linda, Sam (Mary), Bill (Janie), Jane (Doug) Hurst, Don and Marion (Doug) Bolton. Predeceased by his son, Steven John McNally, brother Harold and wife Alice, brothers-in-law Desmond Gregory, Alex Loghrin, sisters-in-law Ann and Wendy Loghrin. Remembered by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
John spent his earlier years in Tavistock, an Orange Lodge member, Tavistock Rod and Gun and South Easthope Tug of War Team. He enjoyed many years in the construction trade excavating and heavy equipment operator, later to own and operate his backhoe business. Retirement took John to the Bruce Peninsula, where he enjoyed planting trees, tinkering with his equipment and just relaxing in the peacefulness of the countryside. Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, August 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation to follow. A graveside service in Avondale Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruce Trail Conservancy or a charity of your choice through the funeral home. 519.271.7411
