Gerald Eugene Clark
1948-2019
Gerald E. Clark of Temperance Vale, NB passed away peacefully
following a short illness, with his family by his side, at the Upper
River Valley Hospital on August 18, 2019. Gerald was born on October
22, 1948 at Woodstock, NB, a son of the late Harold and Phyllis
(Bates) Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynda (Hickey) Clark; two
sons, Doug Clark, Cornwall, PE and Jeff Clark (Michelle), Temperance
Vale, NB; three grandchildren, Kyle, Riley and Mallory Clark; his
mother-in-law, Violet Hickey, Woodstock, NB; his siblings, Joyce Jones
(Ron), Ontario, Helen Simonds (Reg), Northampton, NB, June Price,
Nackawic, NB, Linda DesRoches and Paul Clark (Nancy), both of
Southampton, NB; sisters-in-law, Eunice Clark, Campbell Settlement,
NB, Joan Clark, Fredericton, NB and Roberta Mercer (Keith), Nackawic,
NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother,
Marion (Stairs) Clark; brothers, Fred and Irvine Clark;
brothers-in-law, Owen DesRoches, Fred Price and David Vance and his
father-in-law, Stanley Hickey.
Gerald was involved in the early stages of construction of the St.
Anne Nackawic Pulp Mill and worked there in several capacities for
many years. In later years, he purchased his own portable sawmill and
spent many happy hours “milling”.
At Gerald’s request there will be no funeral service. Friends
and family are welcome to attend an informal gathering at the
Temperance Vale Community Hall, 542 Route 605, Temperance Vale, NB on
Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 3 to 7 pm to celebrate Gerald’s
life. A private interment will take place at a later date at the
Temperance Vale Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Gerald, the family
has suggested the Carleton County Animal Shelter or
DunRoamin’.
