Nécrologie
After a 23 month battle with Glioblastoma (brain cancer) Ron passed away at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice in Kanata in the presence of his loving family.
In the most truest form, Ron was the best partner for 52 years to Brenda (nee Sheldrick) with a deep love and unconditional support throughout the years.
He was a very proud Dad to Shawn (Allison) and Chad (Kate) with many conversations talking about their many accomplishments and a deep love for them. He would drop everything to give them a hand with any project on the go.
His grandsons Wyland and Colson were the light of his life from the day they were born.
Born in Ottawa to the late Lawrence and Margaret (Fogarty) Clost, Ron leaves behind siblings Barbara Windsor, (the late Tom),Wally Clost, (the late Marg), Donald Clost (Jean,) Lorne Clost, (Gisele) Rick Clost, (Lynn), and the late Edward Clost.
(Claudette) and many loving nephews and nieces.
Ron was a dedicated employee at Enbridge for 29+ years, working many long hours but with a drive to get a job done to the best of his ability. He made many lifelong friendships throughout the years.
From the love of the cottage that he built one section at a time at White Lake, and his love of boating and generally just puttering, he lived a fulfilling life. He loved to travel and almost fulfilled his bucket list. Before his illness Ron became very interested in vintage cars owning a 1990 Miata, and would attend many car shows especially Tuesdays at Hazeldean Mall where he again met many new friends.
And we must mention the love that Ron had for his dog Bailey, and all past dogs that entered into his life. Before he became ill he was known as the dog treat man giving out snacks to all dogs he would met up with, needless to say he made many dog friends.
A gathering to honour Ron’s life will be held at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road on Thursday Aug 22, 2019 from 2-3 pm with a service being held at 3 pm in the chapel. Off site reception to follow.
Our family would like to extend the most heartfelt thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses, PSW’s and Volunteers at the hospice. Ron had the most amazing care he could ever ask for.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to either the Hospice Care Ottawa, (Ruddy Shenkman Hospice) or Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada,
