With heavy hearts, the family of Bryan Murphy announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 12th, 2019. Bryan was born in Chatham on November 16, 1949; a son of the late Gertrude and Edward Murphy, and the loving husband of Mary (Cameron) Murphy. Bryan was an instructor at NBCC for over 40 years, and was a life member and 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus; he was a Past Grand Knight, Past District Deputy and other executive positions, serving with both Council #8364 and Council #6595. Bryan was also the President of Independence Plus for over 25 years. Along with his wife Mary, Bryan is survived by his children Judith Nevelos (Chris), and Bryan, step-children Tabatha (Jamie), Jennifer, John Edward (Stacey), grandchildren Lucas and Malcolm, step-grandchildren Jayelle, Shelby (Justin), Megan, Elizabeth, and Victoria; step-great-grandchildren Brianna, Noah, Jack, and Marek, as well as brothers Lynn (Margaret) and Terrance, and brother-in-law Nick Nicol. In addition to his parents, Bryan was pre-deceased by his sister, Anne Marie. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Church, 135 Simpson Drive on Friday at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Heart and Stroke, Canadian Liver Foundation, or the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
