MOSS, David Graham
April 6, 1938 – August 7, 2019
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our Husband, Brother, Father and Grandfather.
Born in New Westminster, BC, Dave was oldest of four siblings. He is a graduate of Lord Byng High School – class of 1957. After various jobs, Dave went on to become a real estate agent, artfully plying his craft for close to 50yrs in Vancouver, Kitimat and the Cowichan Valley, where he has been a fixture since 1974.
A lifelong historian, Dave was an incredible source of knowledge with regards to British Columbia and Western Canada and was often called upon by many in the academic world for his expertise. A stalwart for the Cowichan Valley Historical Society for many decades, he was also involved in several other community organizations. Dave was also one of the first SCUBA divers in western Canada, paving the way for future divers.
Dave was always willing to help out, volunteering in countless endeavours, and always with a smile on his face. It was a point of great pride for Dave that he had participated in all but one of the Terry Fox Runs.
Dave was predeceased by his father Joseph, his mother Janey, and his sister Ann. He is survived by his wife of 54 yrs Roberta, his sons Gregg, Jack and Doug, his sisters Marcia and Clare, nephews Andrew, Mark, Tony and Craig, niece Jennifer, and by five grandchildren.
Dave was surrounded by family when he passed at the Cowichan District Hospital.
He was 81 years young!
