Perley’s Obituary
MUNROE, Perley Lewis – Age 86 of Ingomar, Shelb. Co., N.S. passed away at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 27, 2019. Born in Gunning Gove, Shelb. Co. on October 25, 1932. He was the son of the late Albert and Helen (Goulden) Munroe. He was the last remaining member of immediate family of six. Perley was a fisherman all of his working life. He was a founding member of the Ingomar-Roseway Fire Department and retired after 54 years. He was also a member of the IOOF Lodge 98, Port Clyde until its closure. Perley was an avid hunter, loving to join the boys at camp for deer and rabbit hunting. He also liked to carve ducks and whirley gigs for his family. He always had a witty remark to make you smile. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Elburn, Donald, Lloyd; sisters, Zelma McKinnon and Alma Goulden. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley (Perry); sons, Francis (Linda), Kelvin (Paulette), Eric (Tammy Smith); daughter, Tina Hatfield (Kenny); 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at H.M. Huskilsons Funeral Home, Barrington on Tuesday, July 30 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, July 31 at 2:00 pm from the H.M. Huskilsons Memorial Chapel. Pastor Cindy Dunnett officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ingomar-Roseway Fire Dept. or charity of choice. Interment will take place at a later date.
