With great sadness but comforted by the presence of her family we announce the peaceful passing of Mildred (Pike) Martin, on July 8, 2019 at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home at the age of 85 years.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Brenda Martin (Robert “Bob” Young) of Steady Brook, NL, Lorraine (Thomas) Kearney, of Fredericton, NB, Ann Martin (Randy Trask), of Gander, NL, Sandra (Curtis) Decker, of Gander, NL, Glenda Martin (Sidney Barnes) of Cambridge, ON, daughter in-law Irene Howell-Martin; Grandchildren: Wendy, Terri, Christopher, Devin, Justin, Leeann, Brittany, Megan, and Mackenzie; great grand-children: Brianna, Mason, Aiden, and Ryder; siblings: Marie Tuck, Dorothy (Jim) Martin, Donald (Predeceased Gladys) Pike, and a large circle of nieces , nephews, relatives and friends. Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband Frederick, son Bruce, parents Norman and Jane Pike, Siblings: Bessie, Joseph, Donald, Harley, Clayton and Neil.
We express our gratitude to our home care support Lorna Young, Linda Howe, Linda Payne and Robin Parsons Crocker. Special thank you to Dr. Robert Young, her family Dr. for many years, and all nursing staff at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home for your compassionate care during her stay. Friends may visit Church of the Epiphany in Woody Point on Wednesday, July 10th from the hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. from where Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 11th at 1 p.m. with The Rev. Deacon Francis Elgar officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expression of sympathy Flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to The Epiphany Anglican Church Woody Point.
