Earle, Marie (nee Mercer)
Passed away peacefully on February 25th, 2019, in her 89th year. She was born in 1930, in Manuels, CBS, NL and “The Rock” was so entwined in every little fibre of her being.
As a loving mother, she leaves to mourn her daughters, Michelle Decker (Gary), and Paula Earle (a daughter to whom she devoted her entire life; her little angel with the broken wings). She was the beloved Nanny of Michael (Nicolina), Stephen (Nini), Christopher (Kendra), and Julia; and Great Nan to Leah and Noah.
Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Robert Mercer, and her brothers and sisters, Nance (Annie) Dwyer (Edward), Elizabeth Haas (William), Bridget Matthews, Patrick Mercer (Evelyn), and Leo Mercer (Lois).
She also leaves behind a special girl, loved like a daughter, Eileen Barnable.
Also left to mourn is a large circle of relatives and friends. Special mention to the following cousins, nieces, nephews, and sister-in-laws, who maintained a relationship over the years through phone calls, cards, and visits:
Cousins: Michael Meaney, Ula Metcalfe, Jim Mercer, Frances Smart, Theresa Power, Patricia Nugent and George Mercer.
Nieces and nephews: Karen, Beverly, Anita and Diane Mercer
Anita, Leo, Angela, and Bill Haas
Noreen and Kimberly Matthews
Iris Landry (deceased), and Noreen Dwyer (spouse of Robert)
Sister-in-laws: Doris Moores, Joyce Lane, Mildred Sheppard, and Marina Chubbs
Childhood and lifelong friend: Angela Kelly
She will always be remembered for her tenacity, love, and generosity. She will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.

Visitation: Hickey’s Funeral Home, Kelligrews, July 17, 2019 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm
Funeral Mass and Burial: July 19, 2019, at St. Thomas of Villa Nova Catholic Church at 11:30AM
Reception to follow at approximately 1pm at St. Thomas of Villa Nova Parish Hall, Manuels.
