Marianne (Anne) Hanson – passed away on June 1, 2019 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Gotland, Sweden and immigrated to Canada in 1938 at the age of 11.
Anne was predeceased by her first husband James Forrest in 1992 and her second husband Walter Hanson in 2003. She leaves to mourn her children; Margaret (Ray) Munro of Fort Saskatchewan, AB and Brian Forrest of Montrose, her sister Sonja (Al) Hawkins of Castlegar and stepson Ron (Connie) Hanson of Trail, her grandchildren; Andrea (Max) Malina of Sherwood Park, AB, Ryan (Jen) Munro of Calgary, AB, Jamie/James Forrest of Chilliwack, BC, Kelly Forrest of Kaleden, BC, Megan Forrest of Summerland, BC, and Blake Forrest of Trail, BC, step-grandchildren; Rhonda (Curtis) Langford of Kelowna, BC and Shawn (Thea) Hanson of Trail, BC, six great-grandchildren; Jaren and Nolan Malina, Jayden and Sofia Forrest, Samuel and Benjamin Munro, four step-great-grandchildren; Ayla and Carter Langford and Hunter and Axel Hanson, niece Karin Hawkins of Creston, BC and nephews Richard (Priya) Hawkins of Ontario and Craig Hawkins of Castlegar, BC and great-nieces and nephew Coral Hawkins, Divisha and Krishan Hawkins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sandstrom, the nursing staff on the 3rd floor of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and the staff at Poplar Ridge for the care Anne was given.
Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Cemetery in Rossland. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
