The peaceful passing of Joseph “Joe” Fay occurred at the Souris Hospital with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. He was aged 84 years and always of East Baltic, PE.
Beloved husband of 61 years to Annette and dear father to Sheila Eastman (Wayne), Beth MacPhee (John), Joanne Chisholm (Alan), Leona Rockwell (Brian), Allen (Norma), Paula Fay-Matheson (Brent) and Stephen (Susie). He will be fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren and missed by his 17 great grandchildren.
Survived by his siblings Gene Fay, Ruth MacRae (Frank), Bradley Fay (Sandra), Phillip Fay, Anne McPhee, Maggie MacPhee (Westie), Jimmy Fay and Susan Birt (Donnie); In-laws Lorraine Morrison, Harriet Campbell (Jerome), Leona Campbell (Peter) and Charles Fay (Brenda).
Predeceased by his parents John Brady and Margaret Fay, sister Joan Fay, grandchildren Deidre and Marshall Eastman, brothers-in-law Hughie MacPhee and Ivan Morrison, sisters-in-law Eileen and Betty Fay and other members of the Fay and Ellsworth families.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home with visiting hours on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield, PE on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. If so desired, donations in memory of Joe can be made to the St. Columba Restoration Fund or Souris Home Care. Family flowers only please.
