It is with great sadness that the family of the late Henry Gideon Sheppard announce his passing on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 79 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his beloved wife Lesley (nee Hirst) Sheppard for almost 50 years; loving father of Paula Sheppard Thibeau (Chris), Lesley Anne Sheppard, Angela (Cory) Evoy, Matthew (Anna) Sheppard and David (Samantha) Sheppard; 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brothers: Herb (Kay) Sheppard, Eric (Judy) Sheppard, Ben (Wanda) Sheppard; sisters: Margaret Youden, Ann (Fred) Skanes, sister in-law Lorraine Sheppard, In laws Pearl Hirst (late Robert Hirst), brothers in-law: Norman Naglik, Tom (Hem) Hirst, sisters in-law: Margaret Hirst (Don), and Mary (Robert) McIntyre, and a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George Henry and Dorcas Sheppard; sister and brother in-law: Mary (Maxwell) Sacrey, brothers: George and John Sheppard; brother in-law: Walter Youden, sister in-law Roberta Naglik. Visitation will take place from St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour on Saturday, July 27th, and Sunday, July 28th from the hours of 7-9 pm. From where Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 29th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery Lark Harbour. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church or to St. James All Grade School Kids Eat Smart Program.
