On Sunday, June 30, 2019, Helen passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 91. Helen was born on September 27, 1927, in St. Peter’s Bay, P.E.I. She taught elementary school, as did her mother; before deciding on a nursing career and attended school in Charlottetown. Upon graduating, Helen moved to Toronto, where she met and married Joseph Francis Boyd on October 19, 1957. Together they raised a family built on love and faith. Helen devoted time volunteering at St. Martin of Tours Church including the CWL and acting as a Eucharistic Minister. Helen will be forever remembered as an exemplary wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen is survived by her 5 children, Cathy (Morgan) Grant, David (Kim), Gerard (Sandy), Mike (Darline) and Paul. Cherished grandmother of Brittany (Scott) Clark, John Morgan (Gillian) Grant, Jennifer (Garrett) Graves, Nikki Boyd, Justin Boyd. Loving Gigi of Alice Clark, Grant Clark, Lachlan Grant and soon to arrive baby boy Graves. Having celebrated over 60 years of marriage, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Joe last year. Predeceased by her parents; Francis and Alice (Jay), and her siblings, Olive Lahey, Francis Jay, Floyd Jay, Doris McLellan, and Donald Jay. She is survived by siblings Priscilla Paterson and Merlin Jay.

Visitation is at the Turner and Porter “Neweduk-Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga on Tuesday, July 2 from 6 – 9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Church, 1290 McBride Avenue on Wednesday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. Internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Reception following at St. Martin of Tours Church Hall. Donations to the charity of your choice.
