It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Catherine Jewell (Kurchak) on Tuesday July 23, 2019 at Health Sciences North.
Much loved spouse of Jack Kurchak. Proud mother of her three girls Sandi Kurchak of North Bay, Joan Kurchak-Servent of Sudbury, Maryann Kurchak of Sudbury and baby daughter Cheryl (pre-deceased). Proud grammy of Jesse Servent, Kevin Morris, Mary Catherine Morris, Andrew Kraan and 5 Great Grandchildren. Dear daughter of Earl and Edith Jewell (both predeceased).Treasured sister of Russ Jewell (Marlene) and John Jewell (Pat) (both predeceased).
Catherine was a Registered Nurse for many years. She was heavily involved in the church both at St. Mary Magdalene in Sturgeon Falls and Church of the Ascension in Sudbury. She loved spending time at Clear Lake and went as often as she could. In recent years she enjoyed participation in the indigenous cultures and traditions. She was an avid reader and loved her book club. She always had an ear for people and was a truly devoted mother, as her three daughters were her best friends and they did everything together. The family would like to thank all those at HSN who had a hand in caring for Catherine and a special thanks to Dr. Bonin and his staff for the special care and attention.
