Leonard’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we the family announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, uncle and brother. Len passed from this earthly world surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn his son David (Dawn Cummings) Timberlea, Nova Scotia, Daughter Brenda (Dale) Antal Cardston, Alberta. His loving grandchildren Christopher & Amy Lee, Kayla and Krista Baxter and great grandchild Jackson Friesen. His siblings Theresa, Geraldine Field, Peter (Mary), Marie (Karl) Wyatt, Patrick (Florence), Madonna (Carl) Simmons, Rome, Bernadette (Robert) Hughes, Suzanne (William) Culhane, John (Elizabeth), Veronica (Fred) Price, Imelda (Alexander Payne), Gerard (Loretta). In-laws Irene (Stan) Beales, Robert (Marie) Gardner & Doreen Gardner. Many nephews and nieces who will sadly miss him teaching us how to tie an abundance of different knots and his stories whether true or not sitting around the campfire at his favourite place to be at the Howley cabin. His special friend & hunting partner Russ Gallant. Len was predeceased by his beautiful wife Elizabeth (Betty) Gardner, his parents Thomas & Gertrude, brothers Kevin, Dermot, Ronald & Thomas, sisters Elizabeth & Debbie. Len lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed his hunting and ski-dooing trips to Grand Lake and What a Spot. His favourite place to spend a relaxing time was at the cabin in Howley listening to his country and western music and just looking at the lake or the fire. We would like to thank the staff at palliative care & his care worker Lisa for making Len’s life as comfortable as possible until the end. Goodbye “GREAT UNCLE LEN” you will surely be missed and we will remember you often in the Gazebo and by the fire. At Len’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service.
