Susan Gail Henricks Whitehead passed away peacefully at sunrise on June 20, 2019 in Sechelt, BC, holding her daughter’s hand, with her brother by her side, looking out the window at the beautiful purple skies.
Susan was born in Calgary, Alberta, along with her twin sister, Karen. They joined their older sister Val (by five years), and later were joined by their step-brother, Chris.
Susan loved being near the ocean, playing piano, riding horses, gardening, geology, and being with her family. She was an artist of paintings, sculpture, photography, and set design, and attended the Alberta College of Art and Emily Carr in Vancouver. She also worked for various companies including Alpine, Daon, and Xerox, often leading groups or in managerial positions.
Susan moved to North Vancouver in 1976, and then Sechelt in 2008. She was seen as poised and polished, committed to fighting for what was fair, and to taking care of people. Susan was a loving and generous person, supporting causes that were near to her heart.
Susan is survived by her daughter Ashley Whitehead, her brother Chris Henricks, her brother-in-law Garry Lundgren, Nephew Mike Lundgren, and Niece Kari Lundgren. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew Wesley Henricks and Dora Henricks; her stepmother Anne Henricks; as well as her twin sister Karen Henricks, and older sister Valerie Lundgren.
If friends and family wish, donations in Susan’s name can be made to Family Services of Greater Vancouver.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Susan Gail Henricks Whitehead September 7 1949 June 20 2019 (age 69)..
