Obituary of Scott Wood
WOOD- (Robert) Scott. It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our dear Scotty at age 55 in Wainwright, Alberta on May 16, 2019. Scott is survived by his loving family; his wife, Michaela, daughters Emily Wood (Simon) and Sophie Wood, his parents Bob and Betty Wood, sisters, Lori Oskam (Gerald), and Susie Donofrio (Tim) of Port Colborne, mother-in-law Gertrud Muller, brother-in-law Peter Muller, and sister-in-law Ute (Georg) of Germany. Scott was also the much loved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Raised in Port Colborne, Scotty could be found playing hockey throughout his childhood and teenage years. As an adult, Scott’s love of hockey never wavered as he was an avid and lifelong Toronto Maple Leaf fan. Scott enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces at the age of nineteen where he was a proud soldier of the Airborne Regiment and Military Police Force. The military took Scott and his wife Michaela to Wainwright, Alberta where they raised two beautiful daughters. Over the course of his life, Scotty made countless friends everywhere he went. He always enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a chat, and his kind soul shone through because of his concern and love for others. Cremation has taken place. Scott’s family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Davidson Chapel on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations to Ronald McDonald House, Help a Child Smile, or a charity of one’s choice.
