Penney, Ronald Walter – Age 78, of Truro, passed away June 3, 2019, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Frederick and Ruth (Robertson) Penney.
Newf had been a member of Dartmouth City Police and was a part-time bartender. He later gave up the Police Force and became a full-time bartender. He first worked at Holiday Inn in Dartmouth and later went to Ship Victory Tavern where he worked for many years. He loved riding his motorcycle and was a great carpenter.
He will always be loved and missed by daughter, Bernadette; grandchildren, Melanie, Tamie, Dominic and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Mary-Jane, Savannah, Nevaeh, Danika, Bailey; sister, Ruby; loving companion, Shirley; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary; daughter, Karen; sister, Gertie.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. In keeping with Ronald’s request there will be no funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Dartmouth Police Veterans Association.
