Robert Ed WALKER March 12 1942 June 28 2019 (age 77)

Ed was born in New Westminster to Bob and Sally Walker and grew up in Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Victoria. As a teenager he was an outstanding cadet with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry where he excelled in marksmanship. After graduating from Victoria High School, Ed attended the Vocational Training School in Nanaimo and studied heavy duty mechanics. He apprenticed with Inland Kenworth Ltd. and began what would be a seventeen year career with the company. Ed and Carolyn and their young family were transferred to various Inland Kenworth branches in British Columbia: Terrace, Cranbrook, Quesnel, and Nanaimo. In 1978 Ed went into business for himself and formed Cowichan Valley Truck Ltd. in Duncan. This was followed by the founding and long term operation of Walker Heavy Duty Parts and Service in Delta. In 2010, with his partner Janet, Ed retired to Qualicum Beach where he built a shop in his backyard and began tinkering with vintage motorcycles. Ed was an avid reader (particularly anything related to World War Two or the early logging industry in B.C), a daily Tim Horton’s customer, and a devoted dog owner.
Ed is survived by his children, Ed Walker and Susan Walker, stepdaughter Kathryn Bell, grandsons Scott Charlton, Greg Charlton, and Liam Burdett, brother Jim Walker, sister-in-law Karen Walker, and many nieces and nephews in the Victoria area.
