Marjorie Irene « Marj »
Delaney – 84, Onslow
Mountain, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on
Sunday, June 2, 2019, at home. Born in North River, she was a daughter
of the late Millidge and Jessie (Crowe) Blair.
Marj is survived by her son, Eddie (Patty) Delaney;
granddaughters, Shelley (Chris) Simpson, Wendy (Joe) Patterson; great
grandchildren, « Nanny Ma » to Cassie and Jack Simpson and
« One Nan » to Brady and Alex Patterson; sisters, Lill
(Charles) Edwards, Florence (Steven) Morrisey, Judy (Bruce) Sarson,
Linda (Chuck) Patriquin; brother, Wes (Marion) Blair; several nieces,
nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A special bond was held with
great nieces, Jessie and Emma Patriquin, who lovingly started the name
« Aunt Ma ».
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Clarence Hector Delaney; sisters, Rose (Hughie) Hutchinson, Florence
in infancy; brother, Ross (Betty) Blair. Special thanks are extended
to Lisa and Jennifer from Palliative Care, VON and Dr. Diana
Jones-Locke for their care and support.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Marj’s
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2019. All
are welcome to attend a graveside interment service at 11 a.m.,
Friday, June 7, 2019, at North River United Church Cemetery, 36 Truro
Road, North River, Major Bruce Jennings officiating. No flowers by
request. If so desired, donations in Marj’s memory to IWK
Health Centre Foundation, North River United Church Cemetery or
Colchester East Hants Hospice Society are welcomed. Private messages
