It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Madonna Tapp at the Hotel Dieu de Gaspe on May 31st, 2019 at the age of 71 surrounded by family and friends after a three year battle with cancer. Daughter of the late James Tapp and Beatrice Lemieux, sister of Romeo Tapp and Marcella Harrison, deceased. Beloved mother of Kirk Fournier (deceased) and Dwaine Fournier (Montreal, QC). Forever loved by her partner of Robert (Bobby) Devouge, her family Carmen (Ottawa, ON), Will (Oakville, ON), Edwina (Gooderham, ON), Emma (London, ON), Lorenzo (Barachois, QC), Mill (London, ON), and Norma (Brantford, ON), many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and so many precious friends. Madonna served as president of Branch 261 of the Royal Canadian Legion and as secretary to the District Commander for several years. Always a staunch supporter of Canadian veterans on the Coast, she was instrumental in having the cenotaph erected in Barachois, QC. She was a First Responder in Barachois for several years, and also worked for the Gaspe CLSC where she became friends with many of the wonderful people she helped. With Bobby by her side there was nothing that Madonna couldn’t accomplish. She will be terribly missed and always loved. May you rest in peace, Madonna. Services will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 3rd 2019, at St-Peter’s Church in Barachois, Quebec.
