Obituary of Lawrence James Horne
“Life is the art of drawing only without an eraser”
Lawrence James Horne, 59 of Canso, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019. He was the son of the late Samuel and Ethel (Donovan) Horne.
To say he was an amazing father, grandfather, husband and friend would be an understatement. A big hearted, fun loving, incredible man that loved sports, darts, movies and of course his pride and joy his girls and grandchildren. He loved his family with everything he had and was so thankful for the life he made with the love of his life of over 30 years. His passion was carpentry and he enjoyed time working with his friends over the years.
He has laughed, lived and loved intensely.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Horne (Spears); daughters Sarah Delorey (Jamie); Judy Cook (John); Marsha Boudreau (Greg); adopted daughter Sheila Luddington; grandchildren Noah, Jacob, Ellie, Dawson, Sophia and Jett; sisters Mary Mason (Horne); Sandra Traboulsee (Horne, Glacé Bay; Eia (Bart); Karen (Cecil); Linda; Brenda (John Dee); Duba (Danny); in-laws Cindy Richard (Jim); Michael Spears (Betty); Freddy spears (Charlene); Leisa Relf (Gord); Della spears (Jimmy); mother-in-law Beverly Spears and step-father-in-law James Henry.
Besides his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by brother Ronald Horne; uncle Lawrence Donavan; and brother-in-law Benny Mosher.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Canso Christian Centre. Service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Canso Christian Centre. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
