Obituary of John Thomas Meyer
MEYER, John Thomas
Passed peacefully at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton, Ontario, on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in his 87th year, with family at his side. John was a loving husband to his wife of 46 years, Nancy Everett who passed April 2, 2018. Predeceased by his parents, Frederick Meyer and Mary Allbon, brother Frederick (Beatrice) Meyer and sisters Dorothy (Dominic) Montani, Florence Reaume, Alice (John) Jarvie and brother-in-law Allan Oliver. He is survived by his sister Patricia Oliver, brother-in-law Walter Reaume and many nieces and nephews. John was born in Hamilton and lived his entire life in the area. He was a retiree of Baycoat. John was a gentle man who loved family and the church. He met Nancy in Toronto through the Spiritualist Church. They had a wonderful life together that included travel around the world, breeding Shelties, bowling leagues, shuffle board, pool, darts and more. In retirement, John and Nancy wintered at their Florida property for a number of years. Special thanks to the staff at Macassa Lodge for their loving care of John. The family will receive visitors at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. Service to follow in the Chapel at 11 a.m. with inurnment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
