Jim passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends at Huron Residential Hospice on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Born in Seaforth on September 23, 1946, James Edward McLlwain of Mitchell was in his 73rd year.
Loving father of Kevin McLlwain (Cathy Wade) of Parry Sound and Carrie McLlwain (Brad Moore) of Toronto. Cherished Grandpa of Alexander and Hillary McLlwain and Jacob, Olivia and Avery Moore. Jim is survived by his partner Nancy Steinbach of Mitchell. “Grandpa Mac” will also be missed and forever loved by her family, Rob and Melissa Steinbach and their children Will and Jack, and Jerri-Ann Steinbach and her children Drew and Greg McKay. Dear brother of Helen Ahrens of Mitchell, Jack McLlwain, Marian Pullman, and Ken and Lois McLlwain, all of Seaforth. Loved uncle of Pat (Mike) MacRae, John McGrath, Mark (Kathy) McLlwain, David McLlwain, Susan Pullman, Brenda (Jerry) DeJong, Paul (Jill) McLlwain, Cheryl (Jeremy) Adams, and their families. Jim will also be missed by his cherished friends.
Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Ida (née Stubbs) McLlwain, his brother Larry McLlwain, brothers-in-law Ivan Ahrens and Edward McGrath, and by his sister-in-law Audrey McLlwain.
As per Jim’s wishes cremation is taking place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Seaforth and District Community Centre, 122 Duke St., Seaforth, on Friday, June 28th from 1 to 4 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Maitlandbank Cemetery on Saturday, June 29th at 11 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to McGlynn Family Funeral Home, Seaforth, 519-527-1390.
