It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Scott McGibbon at the age of 63 on June 25th, 2019 after a short courageous fight with cancer. Husband and best friend of Julia for 40 years, supportive and loving father of Kate and Jamie, cherished son in law of Bruce and the late Helen (2008) Wheatley, beloved son of Florence and the late Ron (2019) McGibbon, brother of Mark and wife Patti, uncle to Melissa and Jake, much admired brother-in-law to Donna Campbell of Calgary, Sharon Campbell of Waterloo and Colin (Jan) Campbell of Ottawa and nephew to Don Campbell of Calgary. Best friend of Barry & Carol Griffiths and Kevin & Andrea Granger. Jeff adored and was adored by his canine family Grady, Poppy & Finn. They will miss helping him with home renovations. After his family, Jeff’s passion was anything automotive related. Jeff built and raced sport and formula cars in Canada and the USA for many years. His involvement in racing provided friendships throughout North America. His enthusiasm and humor will be missed trackside. After graduating from McMaster University with a management degree, a majority of Jeff’s career was spent in material and production control. During his career, he traveled throughout Canada and the USA. Jeff enjoyed traveling with his family and McGibbon road trips have inevitably became legendary. Jeff’s incredible wit, deep laugh, total lack of direction and mechanical and carpentry know-how will not be forgotten. As per Jeff’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to TOLL FUNERAL HOME. Donations in Jeff’s memory can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House (Hamilton) or any animal rescue organization.
