ROBINSON, George Allan “Al”
August 7, 1946 – June 15, 2019
After a courageous battle with cancer, Al passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital with his loved ones by his side. Loving husband of 20 years to Patricia (nee Jordan). Dear son of the late George and Marguerite Robinson. Al will be missed by his sister Diane (Brian) Evans, brothers Brian (Deborah) Robinson, Ken (Cheri) Robinson, in-laws Ken (Julie) Jordan, Carol Jordan and Marie (Jordan) Gamble. Predeceased JJ and Keith Gamble. Fondly remembered by his children Calvin Robinson, Ed (Tara) Robinson, Dr. Duane (Megan) Robinson, Tosha (Bill) Aitkins, Tina Peterson (Ian) and Ray Peterson. Cherished by his 12 grandchildren; Jake, Coleby, Logan, Emmalia, Katelynn, Amber, MacKenzie, Gabrella, Benjamin, Alyssa, Alexis and Spencer, 3 great grandchildren Phoenix, William and Ella. Al will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Thank You to the members of Halton Region Paramedic Service, CCAC and CASHH for all you help during these past few years.
Born and raised in Acton, he spent many years driving Transport for Ridley Cartage, Tyler Transport and most recent Active Transport, the 401 between Toronto and Montreal was his home away from home for many years. A member of Acton Legion Branch 197, very dedicated fan of both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Many afternoons were spent at the ballpark and if you were visiting you could be sure the game was on the television. You would find him in his Grandpa chair cheering his teams on.
The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. E., Acton on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Legion Tribute at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, June 21, 2019 from 12- 1 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel
Cremation has taken place.
