Daniel Epoch “Boone”
It is with tremendous heartbreak that the family of Daniel “Boone” Epoch announce his peaceful passing at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Guelph on Friday, May 31, 2019. Boone turned 70 on May 28, 2019. Dear son of the late Michael and Kathleen (Hastings) Epoch. Brother of Jim and Gaytane Epoch of St. Catherines, Agnes and Frank (Butch) Green of Arthur, Pat and Wanda Epoch of Wiarton, Marie Martin of Cambridge, Maryellen and Charlie Kemsley of Cambridge, Frank and Susan Epoch of Fort Erie, Margaret Ann and Don Wagner of Guelph, Leonard and Lillian Epoch of Walkerton. Brother-in-law of Mary Epoch and Rose Wilke both of Fergus. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his very special friend of 29 years Helen Gray, brothers Gerald and Ken, sister Eleanor Epoch and brother-in-law Ron Martin.
Boone fought a six month struggle since November 21, 2018 when as a pedestrian he was hit by a tractor trailer on Hwy 109 near the intersections of Hwy 6 and 109. Boone was well known to the community of Arthur. One of his greatest pleasures was biking around town chatting with everyone he saw or just nodding and waiving as he biked by. A great passion was the love of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The family will receive friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street, Arthur on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated in the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Arthur on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Arthur.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Parish prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
