Death Notice
BLACKMORE, Brian D. – Surrounded by the love of his family, and under the watchful eyes of his caregivers, Brian Dalton Blackmore, 65, passed away June 22nd, 2019, in his special home where he wished to be (Allen Place, London). Beloved son of the late Frances and the late Dalton Blackmore of London. Cherished brother of Linda Kittmer and her husband Charles of Deep River. Adored uncle to Amy Elder and her husband Mike of Ottawa; Keri Kittmer-Frank and her husband Chad of North Bay; and, Andrew Kittmer and his wife Miranda of Deep River. Proud great uncle to Rylie, Heidi, Grace, Chloe, Ashlee and Isla.
Visitation from 9-10 AM on Saturday, June 29th at the Harris Funeral Home, 220 Saint James Street, London. Funeral to follow at 10 AM in the funeral chapel with Reverend Dr. Sheila Macgregor of Siloam United Church officiating. Reception to follow. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery next to his parents.
Brian was cared for by the Alice Saddy Association for over twenty-five years. Their excellent, caring and professional supervision allowed Brian to live to his potential, despite his many challenges. They have been like a second family to him. Those wishing to make a donation are asked to consider the Alice Saddy Association, 111 Waterloo Street, Suite 401, London N6B 2M4.
Brian courageously CLIMBED EVERY MOUNTAIN that he faced, the last one being a three-year struggle with cancer. He drew inspiration and comfort from watching Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music at least once every day.
