It is with great sadness, that we announce the
peaceful passing of William « Bill » Milton Leslie, 77
of Westmount, who passed away Tuesday June 25, 2019 at the Cape Breton
Regional Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with lung
cancer.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late
William and Elizabeth (Stockley) Leslie.
Bill was a kind, compassionate and caring man who
loved a good joke and had a great sense of humour. Bill was an avid
bowler for 50 years and was top notch in his day, bowling with the
Commercial League and the Pro League. He was a very proud Blue Jays
fan, he loved watching curling, and golfing with his buddies. He was
an oil burner service technician by trade. Over his career, he worked
at various places including Fred Pierce, JW Rudderham, the Radar Base,
finally retiring from the Fortress of Louisbourg. He was a proud
member of the Sheet Metal Workers International
Association.
He is survived by his only daughter Sarah
Doucette, and her mother Marie Doucette, his precious granddaughters,
who he adored, Calaya, Ella, Jayla. They will dearly miss their
G-pops. Also surviving are his partner Brenda Snow and her children
Blair (Anne Marie) Snow, Karen (Jamie) Butterworth, sister Betty Jean
(Terry) Fogarty, brothers Lauchie , John (Ann Marie), and several
nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by a
sister-in-law Millie, nephew Donald and niece
Cathy.
Visitation will take place Saturday June 29, 2019
from 1pm to
3pm at Sydney Memorial Chapel with a
Funeral at
3pm in the Chapel with Mr. Gary Grant officiating.
Interment to follow in Membertou Memorial
Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
Cape Breton Cancer Patient Care Fund.
Special thank you to Dr. Sebastian, Dr. Khodadad
and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
