It is well with my soul…
Our dear mother has departed from this earthly home to be present with the Lord on June 20, 2019. At the age of 81 years, Elizabeth Joan (“Betty”) Dionne – Bujold, of Belledune, went to heaven while surrounded by her family. Born in Campbellton and raised in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Letourneau) Travers.
Betty will be fondly remembered as an avid sports fan throughout her life. She was a competitive dart and crib player during her younger years. As her grandchildren grew and became involved in hockey, figure skating, and soccer, Betty was their biggest fan! She loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays and Golf.
She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for several years. Betty worked as a Health Care Aide for the Red Cross and then as a Post Mistress for the Canada Post.
Betty was known for her humor and unfiltered canny wit! Meat Pies were her claim to fame at Christmas celebrations!
Betty is survived by her children Terry (Brenda) of Lincoln, NB., Cindy Doucet (Carl) of Belledune, Donna Saniga (Michael) of Spruce Grove, AB., Alan (Lisa) of Charlo, Tanya Guitard (Randy) of nash Creek; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister Wanda Goodwin and 1 brother David. She was predeceased by her first husband, Delphis Dionne in 1976; her 2nd husband Rene Bujold in 1999; and her grandson, Seth Saniga, in 1999.
Betty’s family would like to thank all of the staff at the Bathurst Regional Hospital for their kindness and caring in Mom’s final days.
The Celebration of Life will be held at the Full Gospel Country Church, Nash Creek on
June 27, 2019 at 3:00 pm. Burial will be private. Memorial arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point. There will no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Betty Traverse Dionne-Bujold August 11 1937 June 20 2019 (age 81)..
