Albert Starblanket
1932-2019
Albert Starblanket passed away on Satruday, June 22, 2019 at the age of 86 in Spiritwood, SK. Albert was the last surviving war veteran living on Ahtahkakoop First Nation, he fought in the Korean war.
Albert will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Dean (Susan) Starblanket of Prince Albert, SK and Gary (Shiela) Joseph of Nova Scotia; daughters, Christine (Allan) Masuskapoe of Sandy Lake, SK, Verna Sasakamoose of Sandy Lake, SK, Celina (Matthew) Jones Hays of Montana, USA, and Lynn Duqette; his sister, Shirley Starblanket of James Smith, SK; as well as numerous neices, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren
He was predeceased by his wife Matilda Starblanket; his daughters, Dorothy Kemp and Beatrice Sand; his Parents, George and Emily Starblanket; his brothers; David Starblanket, John George Starblanket, Adam Starblanket, and Archie Starblanket; and sister, Edith Ahenakew
Wake service will commence on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 4pm. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Both services will be held at the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall with Bishop Adam Halket officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Marks Anglican Cemetery.
