Obituary of Bush Cardwell
Forrest Theodore Cardwell
May 22, 1929 – May 23, 2019
On May 23, 2019, Forrest (Bush) Cardwell, loving husband and father, passed away one day after his 90th birthday, with family by his side. He will be forever loved and missed.
Bush is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley, and his son, Ken, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mae Cardwell, brothers Edward, Frederick and Harry and sisters, Lillian and Gwendolyn.
Bush was born and raised in Regina and attended Central Collegiate where he was known as a friend to all and had a great sense of humour.
Although diagnosed at an early age with a genetic neurological disease (Charcot Marie Tooth) he never let it hold him back. Bush was active in many service clubs, Junior Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis among them. He was an active fundraiser for charity, primarily The United Way. He loved interaction with friends and family. Always giving whatever it took to help others in need.
Bush retired from the Saskatchewan Government, Industry and Commerce, as a Small Business Consultant in the Regional Services Branch in the summer of 1994.
Bush requested that there be no formal funeral service, instead he asked that people take that time to visit lonely, handicapped people who are confined to home, hospital or care home.
Shirley and Ken would like to thank the Home Care personnel who assisted with his care. Also, the friends, neighbours and family for the flowers, cards and support.
Special thanks to niece, Darlene, and friend, Leigh-Anne, who have given so much support and help.
Bush was grateful to Maria and Pasqualini for their friendship and the games on Saturday nights which he so enjoyed.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date.
