William “Bill” Hiebert
1947 – 2019
After surviving a major stroke in 1993 and recently being diagnosed with lung cancer, Bill succumbed to symptoms of the latter on May 8, 2019 at the Moog and Friends Hospice House of Penticton, B.C..
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Frances “Fran” Joan Hiebert; son Jonathon “Jon” William Hiebert, his wife Trudy and their children Jessica and Erin whom reside in Drayton Valley, A.B.; brother Dan (Betty) Hiebert of High River, A.B.; sister-in-law- Eileen (Wayne) Healey of Penticton, B.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Kay and Corny, his daughter Rosalee Ann and by his nephew Christopher Glen Hiebert.
All who met Bill, admired him for his grit and determination. Community being important to him, he was involved with the Lions, Kinsmen and several fastball teams. He also enjoyed woodworking, lapidary, baseball, the Penticton Vees and wintering in Mesa, AZ.

A Celebration of life will be held at Providence Funeral Homes, 1258 Main Street Penticton, B.C. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 2 P.M. Another Celebration will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel Funeral Home, 4th Street Northwest, Calgary, A.B., on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 2 P.M.
Memorial donations may be made to Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton or to the Penticton Regional Hospital.
