William (Bill) Hrynko passed away
on April 30th, 2019 two weeks before his 90th birthday at Seven Oaks hospital
in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Bill grew up in Strathclair MB; born to Mary and Roman
Hrynko. Bill was the eleventh of twelve in the family, and grew up working on
the family farm.
Bill married the love of his
life, Phyllis on October 18th, 1952 then shortly after they moved to Winnipeg.
Bill worked at Gelhorn Motors, Speeds Garage, Senicki Construction, CPR and Paulin’s
Chambers. He was a proud
member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was a jack-of-all-trades and
never shied away from a new project. After their 25th wedding anniversary they
purchased their cottage at Betula Lake in the Whiteshell. Bill and Phyllis
spent the next few years remodeling the cottage; adding running water, a porch,
deck, garage and then built an addition to the cottage. He also added a second
porch and built a playhouse for the grandchildren and later added a bedroom and
Murphy Bed which became the bunkhouse. Bill spent many enjoyable summers at the
lake with his family including grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
grand-dogs and enjoyed sharing many stories. Bill enjoyed the great outdoors
where he loved fishing, hunting, camping, picking blueberries and mushrooms. He
always looked forward to Saturday nights that were reserved for playing cards
and listening to old country music.
He is survived by his loving wife
of 66 1/2 years Phyllis, daughter Jackie (Glen) Pearce, grandchildren Jade
(Cara) and Kelly, great grandchildren Arianna and Blake. He is also survived by
sister Mildred, several brother and sister in-laws, and many nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and ten siblings.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de William Hrynko 2019..
