Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Huntsville District Memorial
Hospital at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 65 years to Shirley (nee Terry).
Loving father of Chris and Colleen (husband Sean). Loving grandfather of
Jamie, Derek and Nicole. Predeceased by his parents Carl and Anita O’Hara
and daughter Terry Lynn.
A lifetime pilot from age 17, Wayne built, restored and flew numerous aircrafts
over the years. As a young man he served in The Reserves as an artillery gunner.
He also began his love of music, song, acting and playing in bands, from high
school to symphony orchestras, acting in Rotary Productions and singing with
Men of Song in Muskoka.
He re-pursued his interest in motorcycles at age 70 and bought a new bike,
enjoying several more years of riding until his health started to slip. He was a
caring and generous man, sponsoring children abroad and supporting families
in need through The Salvation Army as well as many animal and wildlife funds.
Father loved his four-footed friends and always had dogs and cats as well as
feeding the « critters ». Sorrowfully he leaves behind his inseparable buddy
‘Simmon’.
We love and will always miss you, husband, father, grandfather and best friend.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to OSPCA or Hospital
Foundation can be made.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Wayne Gordon O’Hara 2019..
