Obituary of Richard George Downing
Peacefully at the Hawkesbury General Hospital on Sunday, May 12,2019 with his 3 sons and their families by his side Richard Downing of Calumet, Quebec passed away at the age of 74. Predeceased by his parents George Downing and Margaret Reynolds. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Dixon. Proud and loving father of Mark (Corinne), Ryan (Tara) and Eric (Brittany). Predeceased by his infant daughter Kimberly. Fun and cherished Grandpa of Emily, Jonathan and Wesley. Dear brother of Edna Hall (Drummond), Gordon (Barbara), Tom (Kathy) and Norman (Ellie). Predeceased by his brother Bruce and his wife Dale. Richard will be sadly missed by his good friend Hannah Hoare and his wonderful neighbours Jimmy, Cheryl and their son Kyle. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home Ltd., 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 18,2019 at 2:30 pm at St Simeon’s Anglican Church, 445 rue Principale, Lachute, Quebec, Family will be present from 1:30 pm to receive condolences. Interment Harrington Protestant Cemetery, Harrington, Quebec. In memoriam donations to the CHEO Foundation 415 Smyth Road, Ottawa, Ontario K1H 8M8 would be appreciated by the family.
