Obituary of PAULA FEDYSHYN
PAULA FEDYSHYN (SCHAFFER)
January 15, 1924 – April 27, 2019
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of our beautiful and amazing mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend Paula Fedyshyn at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband John, daughter Larissa, son Boris and great grandson Cooper. Paula leaves behind her daughters Monica, Gloria, Patricia, Nadia, Elizabeth (Ernie), Irene (Jim), Dorothy, Linda (George) in Germany, and son Les, as well as her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren to treasure her memory.
Paula was born in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Canada in 1951. She lived with her husband John and raised their family in Winnipeg’s north end. Throughout the years, Paula worked in the food service industry and was well known for her fabulous cooking. She was an exceptionally strong and brave woman, always looking out for the less fortunate and generously helping others. She loved her pet dogs and birds and usually gave them the same names. Paula had a great sense of humour and a lovely smile. She will be sadly missed, but forever loved and cherished by her devoted family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff in the emergency ward and third floor of the Concordia Hospital. They took excellent care of Paula making it possible for her to live out her final days in comfort.
A private service for family and close friends will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula’s name can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
