Lorne John Wiebe
WIEBE, Lorne John:
Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 29th in the loving arms of his youngest daughter, Laura.
Lorne was born July 26, 1932 on the family farm in Amiens, Saskatchewan.
Lorne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Valerie (Day); his three daughters, Barbara Wiebe (Jeff) Cisecki, Deanna Wiebe (Lazgin Isa) and Laura Wiebe (Adam Wills); and four granddaughters, Charlotte Wiebe and Sarah Riley, Brooke and Natasha Cisecki.
Lorne is also survived by his youngest sister Alice (Dick) Gibb and brother-in-law Richard (Shirley) Runnalls.
Lorne leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he wished to mention;
Gary (Frieda) Dallman, Linda (Steve) Bourassa, Bonnie (Donald) Horth, Kevin (Jenny) Dallman, Cheryl (Richard) Horth, Jimmy (Angie) Dallman, Marty (Maryanne) Dallman, Sharon (Dwayne) Desmarais and Robert (Lisa) Dallman; Calvin Banfield, Charlene (Bruce) Craig; Anne (Frank) Rasenberger, Jonathan (Tina) Thiele, Pauline (Rod) Humphrey; Joanne (Rennie) Badgley, Michael Wiebe (Hope), Judy (Mark) Chaperchione; John (Rosie) Runnalls, Kelly (Geoff) Johnston, Christine (Jody) Dorsett, Aaron (Sherry) Runnalls.
He also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Lorne is predeceased by his parents, John and Ethel Wiebe; brother, Mervin (Jean) Dallman, sister Grace (Albert) Banfield, sister Reta (Phil) Thiele, brother Frank (Joan Wood) Wiebe.
Lorne’s daughters would like to thank all the staff at Parkwood Seniors’ Community for taking such good care of their father during his short stay, keeping him company when they could not be there and making him feel special during his last few months. They are also thankful for the great care and attention he received from Dr. Borth, Dr. Parlea, Shelley Sager and the Grand River Cancer Centre.
Cremation has taken place with a private family gathering. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church – Kitchener Site , 19 Ottawa St. N., Kitchener, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Reception in the church hall. Interment to take place on Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery, Niagara Falls. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church – Kitchener Site where Lorne was a member for many years, the Mennonite Central Committee or to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation.
