On Friday, May 24, 2019 Mrs. Lois Tondu of Wainwright , Alberta passed away at the Wainwright Health Centre at the age of 77 years. Born to Leonard and Ethel Stone, Lois, married Clayton Tondu on October 22, 1960. Lois received her teachers cerificate from the University of Alberta and taught full time in Wainwright from 1961-1963, then became a stay at home mom and working as a substitute teacher until 1990. Lois was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Ethel Stone of Chauvin, Alberta; her brothers, Leonard « Monty » Stone and Robert « Bob » Stone; two brothers-in-law, Pat Willock and Nick Fedirko.
Lois leaves behind her husband, Clayton of Wainwright; sons, Lano (Jodi Willerton) Tondu of Wainwright, Dave (Kim) Tondu of Edmonton, Alberta; daughter, Sandra (Llewellyn) Daley of Lethbridge, Alberta; grandchildren, Melissa (Steve) Wood of Wainwright, Kaelan Tondu of Edmonton, Jade Shimmin of Edmonton, Nathan Shimmin of Lethbridge, Shelby Tondu of Edmonton, Christin Tondu of Edmonton; step-grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Southworth of Edmonton, Amanda Jackson of British Columbia, Sara Jackson of Camrose, Alberta, Billy Willerton of Wainwright, Terri Willerton of Wainwright, Emilee (Josh) Jentkin of Edmonton, Danika (Cody) Litke of Edmonton; brother, Fred (Faye) Stone of Wainwright; sister, Helen Fedirko of Edmonton; sister-in-law, Paulette Willock of Calgary, Alberta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Celebration of life for Lois will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM from the St. Thomas Anglican Church, Wainwright with Reverend Ann Marie Nicklin officiating. If so desired, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alberta Lung Association.
