The family would like to thank Harry’s devoted circle of friends, especially Don and Kay Winsor, Diane House, Len and Melba Pike, Charlie and Marie Menchions, Rev Paul Vardy and Bishop Eddie Marsh and wife Emma. Throughout the last five weeks Harry was blessed to have received compassionate medical care from a number of health professionals, too numerous to mention, both in Gander and St. John’s. We are eternally grateful. To his family and friends, Harry was a giant of a man and an inspiration to all who truly knew him. His love and devotion to family through the years was displayed through the many sacrifices made. Though faced with great heartbreak in recent years, his faith remained strong. His love of nature was evident through his lifelong passion for gardening. You never left his home in Eastport without a sample of flowers, tomatoes, berries or vegetables. He loved music and enjoyed a good time with great friends. He loved to read and enjoyed sharing a story or funny joke with others. His quite wisdom will be missed. Cremation has taken place. Resting at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Happy Adventure on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 from 2pm – 5pm and 7pm – 9pm. Funeral Service to take place on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 2pm from the Church of the Good Shepherd, Happy Adventure. Interment to follow at Holy Cross-Good Shepherd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry’s memory may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Happy Adventure or the Canadian Cancer Society.
“The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies.”
