Obituary for
Joseph Ellyn Chetley
A life fully lived and loved came to a close April 26, 2019, with the passing of Joseph Ellyn Chetley who spent the last 42 years residing in Bruderheim, AB. Joe leaves a legacy of humor, kindness, gentle comfort, bushy eyebrows and prominent ears. Charming, handsome and charismatic in his Air Force uniform, the whirlwind courtship of his beloved wife, Ursula Chetley (nee Zellweger), resulted in 55 years of love and marital global adventures. The pride of Joe’s life were his four daughters, Juanita (Joe), Corrina (George), Laurie (Loren) and Cindy (Scott), whom he instilled his vast knowledge of woodworking, car repairs and general home and life maintenance. He was an indulgent grandpa to his 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grand daughters, whom he loved to take on grand adventures and to McDonald’s. The life of the party, with a killer talent for darts, Joe will be best remembered for licorice all-sorts, dulse, beer and the smile he freely gave. At Joe’s request, there will be no funeral services, instead have a beer and give him a cheer. His family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to Ashley and all the staff at Lamont Health Care Centre for the wonderful palliative care Joe received. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Royal Canadian Legion.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Joseph Ellyn
