1957-2019
McCOMBIE HAZEL A. … With great sadness, the family of Hazel
Ann (Stafford) -McCombie would like to announce her passing, after a
lengthy battle with cancer. She was the daughter of George & Ella
Stafford Shannon.
Hazel was dedicated to her family and decided to spend her last
remaining days at home surrounded by her husband, family, friends and
her white cat, Sassy.
She is survived by her husband Durwin McCombie, her son Peter
Higgins and her 9 grandchildren as well as several sister and brother
in laws, nieces and nephews and mother in law Bernice McCombie.
She is survived by sisters Theresa, Denise, Sandra, Susan,
Kathleen, and brothers Jerry, George, Jimmy and Patrick.
Hazel was predeceased by her beloved son Samuel Higgins, and sister
Patsy and brothers Lee, Merle, and Samuel
Hazel had a great love of the outdoors. She enjoyed bird
watching,gardening, and fishing. She also had a great love of music
and enjoyed singing.
We would like to thank the home support workers ,extra mural nurses,
Charlotte County Cancer Society and to the volunteers of Hospice for
all of their kindness
By Hazel’s request cremation will take place. The family will
receive friends during a gathering and celebration of her life on
Friday, May 24th, 2019 from 2:00 pm … 4:00 pm at Zion House of
Worship, Union Street St. Stephen, NB.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Charlotte County Cancer
Society or the Charlotte County SPCA would be appreciated by the
