It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, grandfather, great grandfather, Fred on May 3rd with his wife and step-daughter by his side. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Ethel; sons, Wayne (Roberta) and Lyle (Linda); daughter, Susan Webb; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Fred was a very popular mail carrier for Canada Post in Port Alberni for 28 years. He moved to Parksville in 1986, just before his retirement in 1990. His second love was motorcycles, of which he had many over the years, starting with a 28 Harley. He loved camping and travelling.
Fred also leaves behind his step-daughters, Janie (Greg) Simister and Marian Heiman; step-son, Bill (Elise) Reid; 11 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great grandchildren. He leaves us behind to join his brother, Eddie; riding pal, Ken Heiman; and step-daughter, Ruth Reid. We’ll miss you Freddie.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at Yates Memorial Services, 1000 Allsbrook Rd., Parksville, BC. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society www.alzheimer.ca or Covenant House Vancouver www.covenanthousebc.org
We wish to thank the staff of Eagle Park Health Care Facility for the wonderful loving care they gave to Fred for the past 2 years. Bless all of you, sincerely, Ethel Nott.
