It is with broken hearts that the family of the late
ELIZABETH JOY PITCHER of Burin Bay Arm announces her
passing. Mrs. Pitcher passed away at the Burin Peninsula
Health Center in Burin on Friday, May
24th, 2019 at the age of
93. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories
are her sons, Alfred (Ann) of Burin, Winston (Agnes) of Burin Bay Arm,
and Ross of Marystown Retirement Centre; daughters, Colleen (Jim)
Humby of Paradise, and Darlene (Neil) Oake of Burin Bay Arm; 11
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Josie Pitcher
of Burin Bay; sister, Gouldie Hollett of Burin Bay; sister-in-law,
Joan Mayo of St. John’s; special friend & roommate,
Beulah Emberley of the Blue Crest Home, Grand Bank; plus a large
circle of extended family and friends. Elizabeth was
predeceased by her husband, James Pitcher; parents, Felix &
Tryphena Rowe; brothers, Jack, Levi and Woodrow Rowe; and sister,
Millicent Janes.
The Pitcher Family will be
accepting visitors at PENINSULA FUNERAL HOME in Creston South on
Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00
pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Faith & Hope
Corps, Creston South on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery,
Salmonier.
In Elizabeth’s memory donations may be made
to the Faith & Hope Corps Children’s
Ministry. No flowers by request of the
family.
