Anthony James Jones
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Anthony James Jones announces his passing. Anthony passed away from the Copper Crescent Long Term Care Facility, Baie Verte, NL on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 at the age of 82 years.
Anthony is predeceased by his wife – Elizabeth Jones; parents – Peter and Mary Jones; grandchildren – Myles Payne, Brian Payne, Ashley Payne and Adam Matthews; siblings – Frances Oakley, Josephine Payne, Evangeline Downey, William Jones, Lawrence Jones, Garrett Jones, Ambrose Jones, Michael Jones and Patrick Jones; sister-in-law – Genevieve Jones.
Left with fond and loving memories is his children – Madeline Jones (Bern Fahey), Harbour Round, NL, Hilda Payne (Joey), Baie Verte, NL, Leonie Matthews (Gerald), Harbour Round, NL, Johnny Jones (Stache), Baie Verte, NL, Rose Jones (Jim Bryan), Baie Verte, NL, Debbie Jones (Gord Drover), Harbour Round, NL, Jackie Stuckless (Morley), Fort McMurray, AB, Carmelita Matthews (Barry), Fort McMurray, AB, Bernie Jones (Florence), Springdale, NL, Laurel Jones (Anthony Fahey), Harbour Round, NL and Pricilla Jones (Truman Randell), Baie Verte, NL; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother – Raymond Jones; special sister – Shirley Dugas; siblings-in-law – Alice Jones, Irene Payne-Skinner (Gerard Skinner) and Mary Downey, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will take place from Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM, continuing on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM.
A Rosary Service will take place on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 at 7:00PM.
A Wake Service will take place on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 at 7:00PM.
Father Agim John will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, May 20th, 2019 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Anthony’s memory to St. Pius X Roman Catholic Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 130, Baie Verte, NL A0K 1B0.
