William “Ken” Kenneth Grant- 74, of Port Maitland, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on May 19, 2019 with his wife Simone by his side. Born in Yarmouth on March 16, 1945 he was the son of the late William And Doris (Kenney) Grant. Ken as he was known to his friends and family was a jack of all trades and work different jobs in his career, the most recent owning the restaurant “Hidden Treasures” with his wife Simone in Port Maitland. He loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting. Ken also looked forward to his morning coffee with his son in law Daryl each day. Ken is survived by his loving wife Simone, Port Maitland of 18 years, son, Billy Grant, Edmonton, stepsons; Matthew (Amy) Wheelans, Churchill Falls Labrador, Kenny (Tracey) Wheelans, Port Maitland; stepdaughter Cheryl (Daryl) Forster, Port Maitland; nephew, Jeffery Hardick, Yarmouth; as well as 9 grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, Lois Hardick and granddaughter Madison Wheelans. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A memorial service will take place on Friday May 24,2019 at 2pm from Sweeny’s funeral Chapel with Rev A.D Newell officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Kens memory can me made to Tri-County VON or the NS Heart and Stroke Foundation.
