Passed from this life peacefully in the early morning of May 17, 2019 at the age of 86, at the Anna Laberge Hospital in Chateauguay, QC.
Devoted husband of Laurina (d’Eon). Loving father of Danny (Pierrette), Susan (Reggie), Ronnie, (Norma), Louise (Andrea) and Robert (Jeff). Cherished Grandfather “Papa” of Tyler, Lyndsay, Steven, Mandy, TJ, Clinton, Mandy, Emmett, Carleigh, Angie, Chloe, Luca, Laura, and great-grandchildren Julian, Emma, Noah, Tessa.
Beloved brother to Claire Amirault (late Art), Adèle Amirault (late Delphis), of Montreal and Céleste Amirault (late Basil) of West Pubnico, N.S. Predeceased by his brother, Paul Pothier (Kay of Calgary) and his sister, Marie Pothier.
Simon will also be missed by many nieces and nephews in Calgary, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Boston, as well as many other family and friends.
A proud native of West Pubnico, Nova Scotia, Simon cherished many fond memories and maintained deep connections to his birthplace throughout his life.
Simon was an active parishioner and the organist at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for over 40 years, and he organized and directed the choir at the 55 Plus for many years. He will be remembered by many for filling every room with a piano with beautiful music.
A very special thanks to the staff of the Anna Laberge Hospital, whose care and compassion were greatly appreciated.
