Barbara Florence McEachern
passed away peacefully, May 15th, 2019, in hospital, with her children by her side. She was born June 17th, 1934, to the late John & Florence Cavicchi, and is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Lester, brother Willard & sister Joan. She is survived by sons Kevin (Evelyn), Jeff, and daughter Sheila, all of Boutiliers Point, and daughter Sue (Andrea) of Cole Harbour. Nanny to grand-children, Catherine, Matthew, Stephanie, Nicholas, Andrea & Brianna and great Nanny to Taylor, Beckham, & Ethan. Also survived are sister-in-law, Clarice McEachren, along with many nieces and nephews, who all have fond memories of their Aunt Barb, and sponsored child, Emily, through the Christian Children’s Fund. Mom’s life was her family, home, and Church. She was a life-time member of Saint James’ Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Choir & ACW Member, and was secretary of our Home and School Association for many years. With Dad, they owned & operated the Islandview Motel. Visitation will be held, Monday, May 20th, 4:00 – 7:00 PM, at Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove, Road, Upper Tantallon. Celebration of Mom’s Life & Committal will be Tuesday, May 21st, 11:00 AM at St. James’ Church, Boutiliers Point. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prescott Group, 3430 Prescost Street, Halifax, B3K 4Y4, St. James’ Church Memorial Paint Church Fund, 6991 St. Margaret’s By Road, Boutiliers Point, B3Z 1W4 or charity of choice.
