Carson (nee Mallett), Marilyn (Penny) Penelope
February 17 1947 – May 6, 2019, age 72 years
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Penelope (Penny) Carson. Penny was the loving wife of William (Bill) Carson, having recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Penny was the loving Mother to her son Jeff (Cindy) Carson, and dear Grandma to her grandson’s Tyler and Josh Carson. She was predeceased by her son Richard (Rick Carson) in 2017, Father Gordon Mallett… Read More » in 2010 and Mother Alice Mallett (nee Wilson) in 2002. She was a cherished sister and friend to Mary (Rick) MacLeod, and sweet Aunt and Great-Aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Penny grew up in Burlington, attended Nelson High School went on to work for Carter Vending in Hamilton until she and Bill started a family. Penny later worked alongside Bill as the bookkeeper with the family business, W.H.Carson Construction in Waterdown. Penny loved to travel and cruise with Bill, and spend time with her family and friends. She attended the local Bingo hall until she upgraded to frequent visits to the casino with Bill. Penny was always a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all.
Special thanks to Dr. James Faught, the nurses and specialists with St. Elizabeth’s and Bayshore for home support and the nurse and staff at both St. Joe’s Hamilton and Joseph Brant Hospital.
She passed quickly and peacefully, surrounded by her family and in the loving care at the Carpenter Hospice. A private internment for immediate family will take place on May 10 in Burlington. Friends will be invited to remember, pay tribute and celebrate Penny’s life with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Carpenter Hospice or the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP Hamilton) in memory of Penny.
