Obituary of Wayne McDow
Dewayne “Wayne” Elwood McDow, 70 of New Ross passed away on April 1, 2019. Born on March 25, 1949, he was the son of the late Maurice and Ida Swinamer.
Wayne was a logger and worked with Christmas trees. He could hand shear a Christmas tree, and it was said by many, to be the best Christmas tree they ever had in their life. He was a hunter, loved fishing, his dogs and his inner circle of friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Catherine of New Ross; son Edward (Mary Ann) McDow of Lower Sackville; daughters Christina (John) Kennedy of Cherry Valley, ON; Tammy (Darryl) MacDonald of Yellowknife, NWT; brothers Larry (Joyce) McDow of New Ross; Robert “Butch” (Diana) McDow of New Ross; William “Billy” McDow of New Ross; and Darren (Melonie) Swinamer of North River; sister Margo (Don) McDow of New Ross; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides Wayne’s parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Beverly McDow; son Chad McDow; and sister Dorothy McDow.
A Private Family Gathering has already taken place. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
