Obituary of Thomas Geddis
Geddis, Thomas Walter – of Ridgetown, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday April 8, 2019, age 84. Born in Ridgetown, to parents the late Walter and Hazel (nee Grieves) Geddis.
Loving husband of Jean (nee Parsons) Geddis for 65 years.
Beloved father of Larry and wife Becky Geddis of Strathroy, and Cindy and husband Peré Makris of Kos Greece.
Grandfather of Josh (Jess Langan) Geddis, Brianne (Sean) Graham, Tasos Makris and Elizabeth Makris.
Great-grandfather of Nolan Geddis, Kyle Geddis, Alexis Graham, and Jordyn Geddis.
Brother-in-law of Janet (Fred) Squire of Thamesville, Margaret (Bill) French of Mitchell, Bonnie Verfaillie of Chatham, and Jeannine Parsons of Chatham.
Predeceased by his brother Bill (late Nancy) Geddis.
Tom, his father Walter and brother Bill owned and operated Geddis Plumbing in Ridgetown for many years. He later owned and operated Buckslide Tent and Trailer Park on Lake Kushog in Carnarvon. Tom loved to hunt and fish, he was an accomplished trap shooter. He was a member of the Marsh Street Baptist Church, volunteer Fireman in Ridgetown, and served on Ridgetown Town Council.
A Graveside Interment Service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown, on Saturday April 20, 2019, at 1pm. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will follow at the Ridgetown Legion, Branch 243, from 2-4pm.
Donations in memory of Tom may be made to the Greenwood Cemetery or the Victoria Order of Nurses.
